We are continuing to follow the work of a DNP-NP who is studying the health of a group of staff nurses at a large hospital. The following data, some of it to be used for demographic purposes, some of it in addition to what we considered last week, has now been collected over the course of several additional months, in a follow-up study to what we observed just last week.

The DNP-NP has posed five additional research questions and hypotheses for a series of studies with this group (for simplicity only the null hypotheses are presented here). The DNP-NP has become interested really in determining if there are any differences between the staff who are AD/BSN-prepared, masters-prepared, and doctoral-prepared. For each of these questions, using the algorithm provided in the Course Content folder of this module and SPSS:

  1. Determine which test should be used.
  2. Perform that test.
  3. Report on your findings to include the significance (p value) and if this is significant or not.
  4. Make conclusions based on the null hypotheses provided.

Present each test result in one brief paragraph in one Word. Research Question 1: Is there a difference in BMI for (a) AD and BSN-prepared nurses, (b) masters-prepared nurses, and (d) doctoral-prepared nurses? (Use the PREBMI data to compare across the three different education levels.)

  1. Research Question 2: In (a) AD and BSN-prepared nurses, (b) masters-prepared nurses, and (d) doctoral-prepared nurses is there a difference in weight, systolic blood pressure, and resting pulse?
  2. Research Question 3: Do (a) AD and BSN-prepared nurses, (b) masters-prepared nurses, and (d) doctoral-prepared nurses differ in before and after BMI? (Use the PRE-BMI and POST-BMI for this question.)
  3. Research Question 4: Is there a difference in Exercise Level for (a) AD and BSN-prepared nurses, (b) masters-prepared nurses, and (d) doctoral-prepared nurses? (Use the PRE-EXERCISE LEVEL variable for this question).
  4. Research Question 5: For (a) AD and BSN-prepared nurses, (b) masters-prepared nurses, and (d) doctoral-prepared nurses is there a difference in pre and post exercise levels?

Note: Each question should contain the SPSS output chart and the formal APA summary response. Examples of how to write the summary can be found in the Week 5 Resources section. You do not need to include a cover page with the assignment.
