A DNP-NP is studying the health of a group of staff nurses at a large hospital and has posed five research questions and hypotheses for this study (for simplicity only the null hypotheses are presented here). Looking at Week 4 Dataset (Excel)Links to an external site. answer the following:

For each research question, use the algorithm provided in the Course Content folder of this module and SPSS to:

Determine which test should be used.
Perform that test.
Report on your findings to include the significance (p value) and if this is significant or not.
Make conclusions based on the null hypotheses provided.

Present each test result in one brief paragraph in one Word document.

Research Questions

Are BMI and systolic blood pressure correlated?
1. Null hypothesis: There is no correlation between BMI and systolic blood pressure.
Is there an association between BMI group and exercise level?
1. Null hypothesis: There is no association between BMI group and exercise level.
Is there a relationship between education and BMI group? (Even though there is a large sample size, consider that there are only 15 DNP/PhDs in this sample, so to be conservative, in determining which test you will use, treat this as though it is overall a small sample.)
1. Null hypothesis: education is not related to BMI group.
Is there an association between smoking history and diabetes?
1. Null hypothesis: There is no association between smoking history and diabetes.
Are BMI and diabetes correlated?
1. Null hypothesis: BMI and diabetes are not correlated.
