this is a homework 66
Since you are currently an EMBA student, it can be assumed that your carer path is focused on a position in senior management or further developing your KSAs if you are already in a senior management role. As such, in order to gain a better sense of what to expect and what steps you might take along this career path, a good place to start is with a self-assessment that examines your general vocational-interests to see how well they might reflect the fit with this level of a position.
With this in mind, please complete the following:
1. First, follow this link Link (Links to an external site.) and complete the “O*NET Interest Profiler”. When you complete the assessment and receive your RAISEC scores, then select either Job Zone 4 or Job Zone 5when given the prompt and review the list of suggested occupations provided.
2. Next, please review the information provided by “Occupational Outlook for Top Executives”, which was recently published by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. A link to the information can be found here: Link (Links to an external site.)
3. Then, using the information from both the interest profiler and the Occupational Outlook, please answer the following:
A. Based on your interest inventory results, describe in what ways you feel that your work interests would be (or already are) a good fit for a senior management position, and then describe in what ways your interests may not be a good fit for this position (or are currently posing a challenge). What I am expecting here as part of your response is for you to relate specific attributes provided by your interest profile results to key job and work environment characteristics of the Top Executive position. Also, you do not have to report your actual RAISEC scores.
B. From an employer’s perspective, what aspects of your interest profile do you feel would help you to increase your value and make you a better fit for a position at this level? In other words, what predispositions of yours (according to your RAISEC profile) do you think would help to increase your value as someone in a top executive role, and which ones might detract from your value?
C. Given the information you have now, please describe what specific steps you would take to advance your career progression toward a senior management position by relating your career interests to your motivation (i.e., what has or would prompt you to pursue this career path, and how would this position meet your needs?).
It may be that this is not a career goal after all, or it may be that your interest in such a position has been reinforced. In either case, please describe what steps you would take to pursue this position or what direction you would go if you feel this is not the goal for you.* For those that may already be in such a position, please describe what steps you would take to increase your effectiveness in this position.
