DIRECTIONS for the Bad Sex Media Bingo assignment:
Go to http://badsexmediabingo.com/ and familiarize yourself with the project.
Then go to: http://badsexmediabingo.com/explanations/ to read an explanation of each square.
Then watch your favorite TV show, movie, or documentary that deals with sex or includes sexual content, and play Bad Sex Media Bingo!

Then be sure to answer the following questions in an essay:
Which media did you watch (name of TV show/film)?
What was the premise of the show/film?
How many bingo squares did you cover?
Which squares did you cover and WHY? (be sure to give a detailed explanation as to why you covered those squares using specific examples from the show/film. Be sure to make connections to class discussions and the eText).
Make an overall assessment: Did the show/film challenge a lot of the stereotypes around sex that we see in the media? Or did the show replicate/repeat a lot of the same stereotypes that we are constantly fed in the media around sex?
- Essay follows formatting requirements outlined in Writing Policies on syllabus (proper heading, title, font, margins, etc) (5 points deducted if any part of the Writing Policy is not met)
- Essay is a minimum of 350 words (5 points deducted if paper is 275-349 words; 10 points deducted if paper is 200-274 words; 25 points deducted if paper is 125-199 words; 35 points deducted if paper is 100-124 words; 50 points deducted if paper is less than 100 words.
- All 4 required questions are answered in essay format (5 pts deducted for each question not answered)
- Paper is in ESSAY format (5 pts deducted if paper is numbered questions rather than in essay format)
